Situation

For many years, Lindblad Expeditions has been providing trips to the Arctic from Svalbard, Greenland, and the Canadian Arctic. These arease are popular destinations with visitors for experiencing ice and polar bears.

In one of the seasons in the Canadian Arctic, a new itinerary was introduced that encompassed the Queen Elizabeth Islands. These islands, located in the Canadian Arctic, are notoriously remote and rarely visited.

Plans were in place to offer this trip again in the future, so updated content was needed to promote it for the following year. They wanted content that captured the excitement of exploring a new area for the first time.

Action

I was contacted by Lindblad Expeditions to film promotional material for this new itinerary. Together, we brainstormed ways to capture this location in a unique manner, setting it apart from their other Arctic expeditions.

We came up with the idea of filming one of their staff members on a journey through this new landscape—observing expansive glaciers, dramatic geology, and constantly searching the horizon for wildlife.

During production, I filmed all of the B-roll and conducted interviews to compile a three-to-four-minute promotional video, while collaborating with their expedition team for logistical support.
